Submission guidelines

We are an independent online journal, covering national and international affairs.

We run three types of news items: reports & briefings (approximately 700 words), which are brief analyses of news developments; articles (typically 1000-2000 words), which combine reporting and critical analysis to provide in-depth scrutiny on matters of public concern; and academia essays (generally over 2500 words), which are published on our Academia.edu page.

At the domestic level, we are especially interested in civil rights, civil liberties, human rights, economics, environmentalism and politics. Our readers are spread all over the country so it is important that the stories and investigative articles have national significance. At the international level, we are interested in pieces on international politics, economics and social developments. Our emphasis is on strong investigative reporting.

Our standard payment for each theme article is £10. As a new publication, we are unable to offer remuneration for other pieces. This will likely change in future.
